Before joining Paisano Energy, Matthew Bauer worked as a Quantitative Geologist for 15 years. His current research interests include the application of machine learning in petrophysics, mapping in-situ stress, and utilizing Python (an interpreted, general-purpose programming language) to allow geologists to spend more time interpreting geology. He has written software for Anschutz Exploration Company, Antero Resources, and the Colorado Geological Survey. Matthew is a Research Faculty Member with the Colorado Geological Survey at Colorado School of Mines. He earned a MS in Geology from Colorado School of Mines and a BS in Geology, with honors, from The University of Missouri-Kansas City.
In his free time, he enjoys home improvement projects, cycling, camping in the Rocky Mountains, and spending time with his family.
